The new face of modern folk music from Luxembourg
On Friday, 17 October 2025 at 19:30, the Luxembourg-Italian singer, songwriter, and multi-instrumentalist Authentica (Martina Menichetti) will perform at the Philharmonie Luxembourg. With her unique blend of Luxembourgish folk and modern world music, Authentica invites the audience on a journey that bridges cultures and generations.
Authentica is an energetic performer and cultural storyteller. Her music carries the heritage of Luxembourg’s folk tradition into new contexts, making it resonate with audiences worldwide. Through the skillful use of various languages and instruments, and a sound influenced by Celtic, Latin, and Mediterranean music, she explores ancient tunes, stories and legends with a contemporary perspective.
Martina holds diplomas in flute and piano from the Conservatories of Vienna and Maastricht, has collaborated with internationally renowned artists such as Carlos Núñez and Dan Ar Braz, she was a member of the band Dullemajik and has performed on stages like Celtic Connections festival at the Royal Concert Hall in Glasgow UK, TEDx, and Zeltik Celebration, opening for artists like Sharon Shannon, Mànran, Skipinnish, Startijenn, Gwennyn and Red Cardell.
Authentica’s debut album "Out in the Light" was released in early 2025 and has already received glowing praise from the press, which hailed it as “a musically first-rate and conceptually original body of work”.
The Philharmonie concert will feature new original songs alongside reimagined folk pieces, performed with Authentica’s full band. After the concert, the evening will continue with a jam session open to all, a celebration of community and the joy of spontaneous collective music making.
